Hiram Talk Was “Insane!”
Nearly 50 people, including more than a dozen children, attended my WAR PIGEONS presentation at the Hiram Historical Society on July 8. Jon Bernhard was there, too, with a crate of birds, and he spoke about his homing pigeons after the PowerPoint. Both adults and children held and petted his beautiful pigeons, and then he released them outside the building. Up up and away they went, easily beating him home, about 30 miles away. Here’s what a few attendees had to say:
“That was insane! Informative and eye-opening to the nature of these pigeons.”
Dondi Soucy, Army veteran”
“We were charmed and informed by your talk today….everyone was wowed, and we’ve never had so many kids at a program.”
Sally Williams, President, Hiram Historical Society
“You and Jon did an impressive job making your talk fascinating for young and old.”
Eugenia Gregory, member Hiram Historical Society
NEXT TALK: Kennebec Historical Society at the Augusta City Center in Augusta at 6:30 pm on August 16.
